Mutu Monthly Wrap - Jan 2021
We hope you're all having an epic Kiwi summer! You may have seen our recent partnership with our friends at JUCY where we gave one lucky kiwi a chance to win a 3-day JUCY camper rental to discover their backyard! A BIG congratulations to Tracey Watson who is the lucky winner of this prize. Tracey, we'll be in touch soon to provide you with further details! For the rest of you, you can still get 20% off the daily rate of campers by using the promo code JUCYMUTU on the JUCY website.
Introducing new features in the Mutu app!
You can now make item requests within the Mutu app! If you are looking for something to rent and it isn’t currently available on Mutu, you can ask other Mutu users to list it! You can do this on the home screen by clicking the "+" icon and then the “Request an item” button. Alternatively, when searching for an item you will see a prompt at the bottom of your screen to make your request. Once your request has been made we will notify you when the item you are looking for has been added! How's that for crowdsourcing!? This release also includes improved notification reliability and other bug fixes and improvements! Thanks as always for your ongoing feedback - it really helps us improve Mutu!
Top 10 for summer
Kiwis have been very busy using Mutu to make the most of summer! Below are our top 10 summer rental requests. If you own any of these items, help your community out by listing them on Mutu!
✅ Tents ✅ Kayaks ✅ Roof boxes ✅ Water blasters ✅ Surfboards ✅ Paddleboards ✅ Bikes ✅ BBQs ✅ Hedge trimmers ✅ Drones Don't forget that, as a lender, you're protected by the Mutu Guarantee. This protects each listed item up to the value of $1,500. Although, we're proud to let you know that haven't had any claims yet, so Mutu users are very careful with our lenders' items!
Mutu in the media
Thank you to ecologist Paula Godfrey for being such a Mutu advocate and for the epic testimonial in this Stuff article in January. The Stuff team interviewed Paula to understand her motivations for using the Mutu platform and her experience so far! Thanks also to NZ Fringe Festival for getting behind Mutu on Facebook! You can enter their competition to win $200 of Mutu credit here.
Helping Mutu grow
We are very thankful to receive ongoing support from a variety of entities across New Zealand. This allows us to continue to improve and develop the Mutu platform and make things better for our users.
Recent funding includes $2,000 from Nelson City Council, $5,000 from the Christchurch Sustainability Fund and $11,500 from Canterbury Waste Joint Committee.
If you're interested in investing in Mutu, please get in touch. We'd love to hear from you!
